Message in a bottle

Hi, stranger:

My name is Rod Muñoz-Vega, and I am physics teacher. I work at a small and young university (more of a community college, really) called Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México, here, in Mexico City. Despite all hardships, I try to give my best to my students, and I am proud to say that one of my latest papers has remained among the top ten most downloaded articles published by the American Journal of Physics during two full months (September-October 2012):

You can take a look at some of my previous work here:

And then there is my latest stuff, that I deem quite a nice introduction to macroscopic quantum coherence, and which I have submmited to the European Journal of Physics:

But now my faculty position is at peril, as well as the jobs of some two thousand workers. All due to the actions of political mobsters. A small group of so called professors, with a lot of clout in the Mexico City political scene, is trying to oust our present Dean, Dra. María Esther Orozco-Orozco, an admirable woman and well-known geneticist, winner of the L'Oreal-UNESCO award for women in science. This, because Dra. Orozco-Orozco is trying to put some order into our institution, and curb the luxurious lifestyles of this gangsters.  Some of them come to work just once a week, and some of them did not even bother to obtain a bachelor degree. And most of them just teach pap...badly digested French Theory that was old thrity years ago, mingled with some demented ramblings of their own.
And this scum is paying hoodlums  to break havoc in our campus. You can get an idea of what it is like from this from this video, and also from this one.
And the Mayor of Mexico City just does not let police take action in order to defend us, because he is afraid of the political strenght of this group.
If you are interested in the progress of third-world countries like mine, I urge you to e-mail Mr. Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, Mayor of Mexico City, at this direction:
mebrard@df.gob.mx
An example of a letter, which you can simply copy, paste and firm, is the following:

Mr. Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon
Mayor of Mexico City

The present is to express to you my utmost preoccupation concerning the situation of the Autonomous University of Mexico City (UACM) I have been informed that the extremely violent actions of a small group of paid hoodlums are putting at risk the education of some fourteen thousand students and the livelihoods of more than one thousand and eight hundred workers, and I strongly believe that your decided and immediate actions, (always in accordance with Mexican laws) are needed in order to assure the survival of the UACM, and give it the chance it deserves as a publicly funded institution of higher education.

Thank you very much for your attention

Yours truly

Thanks in advance

Yours truly

Rod Muñoz
